Element Pictures have announced that Ken Wardop’s Making the Grade has been selected to screen at this year’s prestigious SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas. Making the Grade will screen as part of the 34 Beats Per Second strand which screens twelve films showcasing the sounds, culture & influence of music & musicians, with an emphasis on documentary.
Speaking on the selection, Director Wardrop commented,
“We’re thrilled to announce that the International Premiere of Making the Grade will be in Austin, Texas during this year’s South By Southwest Festival. This massive creative gathering is a wonderful spotlight for both new film and music and is such an exciting opportunity for our film. This endearing and uplifting documentary explores the bond between piano teachers and their pupils as they struggle through their exams. Making the Grade is a story of the transformative power of music and the pride and happiness it provides to both students and teachers.
Irish Audiences will have the chance to see Making the Grade when it goes on cinema release from April 13th.
