Pour yourself a pint of bourbon, press your pocket square, and ask the dry cleaner if he can do anything about that lingering smell of stale fags, because the beginning of the end of Mad Men is nigh. Well, sort of.
Like The Sopranos and Breaking Bad before it, the makers of Mad Men have succumbed to that incredibly frustrating practice of splitting the final season into two halves. This means that the first seven episodes (“The Beginning”) will air in April, but the final seven (“The End of an Era”) won’t arrive until Spring 2015.
As it’s the final season, I predict that the count of elevator-related metaphors will go through the roof. AMC have released a 30 second teaser that is region restricted to the US. Not to worry though – The Daily Mail has got us covered. That bastion of journalistic integrity has thoughtfully done one of those pointless “articles” that reads like a transcript of an audio description for the visually impaired.
AMC will premiere the first episode of the final season on Sunday 13th April in the US, while Sky Atlantic will air three days later on Wednesday 16th.
