The IFI’s annual open day rolls around again on 20th June. This year’s programme has just been released, and it looks great with something for all tastes.
Highlights include Back to the Future and Monty Python’s Life of Brian. The closing film is Steven Spielberg’s seminal Jaws, which turns 40 this year (but is looking well on it). You can say what you like about the legacy that Spielberg’s second studio picture left for Hollywood’s preferred business model, but it remains a masterclass of storytelling and suspense.
As always, tickets for all the events are free but must be booked in person on the day (limit of 4 per person). So get there early. Full details are available at www.ifi.ie/openday.
