Netflix have commissioned a new original comedy from writer/director Nick Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall – yay, Bad Neighbours – boo) and Francesca Delbanco.
Friends From College is an eight-part 30-minute comedy about a group of friends facing down their forties and experiencing a range of success, or lack thereof, both professionally and domestically.
An impressive cast includes Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele), Cobie Smulders (Avengers), Annie Parisse (Vinyl) and – wait for it – Fred Savage (The Wonder Years). Here’s hoping for a voiceover.
Netflix Vice President of Original Content Cindy Holland said:
“Nick is a comedic mastermind. With Friends from College, he and Francesca have created a world that is both moving and very, very funny. We are thrilled to be working with them and this incredible cast, and look forward to audiences around the world laughing with and at these relatable characters.”
Stoller, who also wrote both of the recent big screen Muppet outings, will direct all eight episodes.
Friends From College starts shooting this autumn.
