2D OR NOT 2D?

THAT IS THE QUESTION

Let’s start with a confession… I’ve never seen Avatar. I’ve never felt the need to watch Titanic either (historical spoiler: it sank). You could go so far as to say that I have a bit of an aversion to James Cameron. His 1997 Oscar acceptance speech demonstrated a rampant egotism bordering on the psychotic, and I will admit that when he went on that deep sea exploration in 2012 I secretly hoped he would be eaten by some giant subterranean beastie…

IN DEFENCE OF INDIANA JONES AND
THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL

When George Lucas announced at the tail end of 2006 that production would begin on a fourth Indiana Jones movie with Steven Spielberg back in the director’s chair and Harrison Ford back in the fedora, it was then seen as a good thing. ABOUT

Hello and welcome to ScreenTime.ie. This site is an independent critical resource for Film and TV, and has been online since 2013.

As a child of the 1970s, I was in the right place at the right time to find Steven Spielberg and George Lucas in their prime. Through them I discovered John Carpenter, Woody Allen, John Hughes, Martin Scorsese, The Ramones, The Sex Pistols and The Clash. In the DIY spirit of punk, ScreenTime.ie is my homemade fanzine to the movies that matter.

Thanks for reading.
